A Unit Out of the Ordinary

Tonight I am doing an open house for a unit in the Two Oaks Subdivision. This unit was out of the ordinary for 3 main reasons: landscaping, size, and being animal friendly. It surprised me to see that there were wooded, quiet subdivisions right near the Rosslyn area and Rosslyn Metro. It is an older unit (compared to the 1 year old high rise buildings) which embraces it’s own special charm. Tucked away on a quiet street along side town homes, this condo building is located on a plot of green grass, with shading trees, and newly designed landscaping. Being 821 sq. ft. for a 1 bedroom, this unit is much larger than most newly constructed high rise units. Another thing you don’t find much of in the city is this unit allows animals. I was very shocked of the resistance many condominium units have against animals. I have always wanted a dog when I graduated college, and after going building to building, I am slowly realizing that it is very difficult to find a place that allows a large animal.

Odyssey Condominiums

Last night I showed 2 units at the Odyssey. Although the outside of the building looked like most other hi-rise condominiums, the inside took a whole different motif. The inside surprised me as it embraced a serene modern design with accents of cool blue and light wood throughout. The entire building was kept up very well. The developers definitely did not cut corners, as all the light fixtures, door knobs, elevators, and small accents were top of the line. Along with the building, owners also put in a lot of work to perfect each unit with state-of-the-art appliances, granite counters, soft carpet, and elegant bathroom amenities. The open layout of the apartment was very well thought out (compared to many hi-rise buildings) maximizing the square footage. I was shocked that even on only the 6th floor there was still an amazing view of Georgetown, the National Cathedral, and the greenery of Arlington because of the short buildings surrounding the Odyssey. The rooftop pool, seating area, gym and club house all with an even more spectacular view of DC and Georgetown created a terrific atmosphere for social events and private parties. For the price (compared to some of the other new high rise buildings) this has definitely been my favorite condominium building so far.

My visit to the Atrium Condominiums

Most of last week I created brochures and handouts for Condo 1’s sales listings and rental properties. On Thursday I went to the Atrium Condominiums in Rosslyn to take pictures of 4 different units. One unique design feature of the Atrium is the building holds both one story and two story condominium units. With most modern high rise buildings cramming as many units into a small amount of space, it was nice to see design centered around customer and tenant’s wants, instead of developers desire of mass production of condominium units. Our ninth floor unit has a private balcony overlooking Georgetown. Although the Atrium is in the middle of downtown Rosslyn and a only a few blocks from the Metro, standing on the balcony with no view obstructions made me feel like I was far away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. The second level contains one of the three bedrooms with private bath. This tenth story bedroom is centered around a wall to wall window overlooking Georgetown while allowing an immense amount of light to enter.
